Emily's Dedication

Emily was dedicated when she was almost 11 months old on December 5, 2010. We were a little delayed in scheduling it with the church because we wanted as many of our family members to be there as possible and we wanted to plan it on a weekend that Matt was off. Pastor Dick LaFountain from Grove City Alliance Church dedicated Emily at the 10:45 service. He met with us at our home prior to the dedication, which was nice because we were able to speak with him personally and he was able to get to know us a little bit.

During the dedication Pastor Dick talked about how baby dedications are not the same as infant baptism. We, as parents, are dedicating our child to the Lord and vowing to bring her up in a Christian home. He mentioned how Matt and I both came from a strong heritage of Christian believers and how that is very special. He then took Emily in his arms and prayed over her. It was a very special moment. Logan was also standing up front with us and did a great job. He even gave Pastor Dick a high-five. We then came back to our house for a nice luncheon. The whole day was very special. In attendance at the dedication were: Oma and Opa, Grammy, Aunt Kelley, Uncle Seth, Aunt Danielle, Carter, Nana, Grandma Anderson, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Bill. It was great to have so many family members supporting Emily and us on this improtant day. Thank you all for coming.
