Clearwater, FL 2010

Okay, so I am about a month behind in blogging about our family vacation this year, but I have not had a moment to sit and type much at all since we have been home. We had one of the BEST vacations ever this summer. We went with my mom and sister to Clearwater, FL from June 19th-26th and then Matt and the kids and I went to visit Pop(Opi) and Grandma(Omi) in Tampa, FL from the 26th-29th. We had a great time.

We left for the airport very early on Saturday morning, which was nice because we arrived in FL around 11am that morning. Matt and I were worried about how the kids would do on the airplane, but to our surprise Emily slept on both legs of the flight and Logan loved flying and sitting in his own seat. We even pulled out the computer so that he could watch his DVDs.

We stayed in a beautiful condo owned by friends of my family. The weather in Florida was a balmy 95 degrees most days, but we did not mind because the pool and beach were right outside our door. Matt and I have never stayed right on the beach, so this was a real treat!

Logan still had his cast on his leg and was not able to go on the beach or near the sand. It helped that the pool was right beside the beach because we could swim in the pool and look out at the sand and water. Logan did not complain a bit about his cast and had fun swimming in the pool and having snacks poolside.

Emily enjoyed cooling off in the pool too, but the best part for her was napping poolside, which she did just about every day. Can you blame her? With a little breeze it was the perfect place to nap.

We had a lot of good food on our trip too. Because we had a nice kitchen in the condo we ate breakfast, most of our lunches and a few dinners in, but also had pizza a few times and got to eat at several yummy restaurants. We had pizza and gyros, Matt's choice for Father's Day, at a Greek restaurant. Ate sandwiches and fish tacos at Frenchy's and had sangria and a delicious dinner at a Columbian resaurant called The Columbia.

As a break from the heat we decided to go to The Florida Aquarium in Tampa. It was a really fun day. Logan loved running around and looking at all of the exhibits. We even got to touch the sting rays that they had there. Here are just a few pictures from the day.

Matt and I got to really relax this trip because my mom and sister really pitched in to help out with the kids. We even got to go out on a DATE!!!

Here are some of our other favorite pictures from our trip to the beach:

After our trip to the beach, we dropped off my mom and sister at the airport and we were picked up by Omi and Opi. We had a great time at their house. We got to swim in the pool everyday and eat and snack and eat some more. They were very generous! We had so much fun.
